Eng. Kanishka Samudaya Nanayakkara

Eng. Samudaya Nanayakkara is a Sri Lankan National Engineering Excellence Awards winner. He is a Gold Medalists in University Colours Awards and recognized in Dean’s List for excellent academic achievements in his undergraduate degree. He has received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka in 2006 and the Bachelor of Information Technology degree from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2008. He gained the Master of Science in Computer Science degree from University of Moratuwa, in 2010. In recognition of his national level contribution to the Engineering profession, research and academia, he was bestowed with the ‘Young Chartered Engineer’ award by the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka, in 2013 and ‘COSMIC Young Engineer’ award by the COSMIC Group of Journals at International Conference on Advancements in Engineering, Technology and Management, Thailand in 2015.
Eng. Samudaya obtained his Chartered Engineer status in the IT Sector in 2012 and presently holds the ICT Chairman position of the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka. He is a Corporate Member of prestigious professional institution such as BCS (The British Computer Society), IEEE (The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), IET (The Institution of Engineeringand Technology), ISOC (The Internet Society), ACM (The Association for Computing Machinery), and Member of CSSL (The Computer Society of Sri Lanka). He presently serves as the Management Information System Consult of the University of Moratuwa with nine years of domain experience. He has served more than twenty large scale national level projects as an Information Systems and IT Consultant for many reputed organizations such as the United Nations Office for Project Services, Habitat for Humanity, Asian Development Bank funded Projects, Department of Labour, Sri Lanka and Road Development Authority, Sri Lanka and has served as an ERP expert in many Enterprise System implementation projects in leading organizations in Sri Lanka.
Eng. Samudaya has been invited for several Television interviews by IESL-Techno TV, Sri Lanka and has done dozens of invited presentations and lectures for professionals including university and vocational training lecturers, government administrative officers, engineers, doctors, teachers, military officers and many more professional forums related to Enterprise Systems and e-Learning topics. He serves as a visiting lecturer for the Faculty of Engineering, University of Moratuwa and has involved as a resource person for many number of training programs that include local and foreign counties. Eng. Samudaya also contributed as a research supervisor in university undergraduate and postgraduate research.
Eng. Samudaya has voluntarily contributed in source code level and knowledge level in several Open Source project related to enterprise systems and e-Learning systems such as webERP – Enterprise Resource Planning System, Alfresco – Enterprise Content Management system and Moodle – eLearning system. His research interests include e-Learning and Enterprise Systems such as ERP, CRM, MIS, ECM, etc. related research, Software Project Management and Human Factors in Software development. He has published a number of research papers in well-recognized international journals and conferences and he has contributed in several national level researches.
